Bearded Swim Coach Ltd – Terms & Conditions
At Bearded Swim Coach Ltd, our mission is to provide high-quality, safe, and enjoyable swimming lessons. We operate in line with the STA’s Code of Practice, meaning all teaching is delivered by qualified instructors who are trained in rescue skills, safeguarding, and safe pool operation procedures.

1. Awards
• All swimmers work towards an STA award each term – included in your lesson fee.
• To be eligible, swimmers must attend more than two lessons and complete the full term.
• Awards are assessed by a qualified STA teacher in line with STA assessment criteria.

2. Term Dates
• Our term dates are set by our governing body, not school or religious holidays.
• Lessons may run during half-term and public holidays.
• Always check your booking confirmation or our social media for the most up-to-date term dates.

3. Lesson Attendance & Punctuality
• Please arrive no more than 10 minutes early. Late arrivals may not be admitted if it disrupts the lesson.
• Consistent attendance helps progress and ensures you get the most from your lessons.

4. Missed Lessons (By You)
• Missed lessons are non-refundable.
• In exceptional cases (e.g., long-term illness with medical evidence), we may issue a credit minus one lesson (£13).
• Credits are valid for 12 months and are non-transferable.

5. Private 1:1 Lessons
• Any 1:1 cancelled on the day of your lesson after 4pm will be charged in full. Failure to attend will result in your account being charged in full.

6. Lessons Cancelled (By Us)
• In rare cases of pool closure, instructor illness, or other events beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and/or text.
• Please check communications before travelling.
• Cancelled lessons will be credited but are non-refundable and non-transferable.

7. Deposits & Cancellation Before Term Start
• All bookings include a non-refundable deposit of £13 (one lesson).
• Cancellations before term start will forfeit the deposit.
• Once the term has begun, no refunds are issued.

8. Safety, Health & Venue Rules
We follow STA guidance on pool safety, teaching ratios, and safeguarding. Please:
• Remove shoes or wear shoe covers on non-carpeted areas (siblings too).
• Keep shoes off benches and food out of the venue.
• Ensure swimmers have used the toilet before lessons.
• Drop swimmers at the poolside entry – our assistant will guide them in.
• Parents are not allowed poolside during lessons unless it’s a private 1:1.
• Collect swimmers from poolside with a towel immediately after their lesson.
• Do not leave belongings in changing rooms during the session.
Photography:
• Absolutely no photography or filming poolside or in changing rooms.
• Breaches will result in immediate cancellation without refund and possible police involvement.
• CCTV operates throughout the building.
Illness & Medical Conditions:
• Do not bring your child to lessons if they have a contagious illness, ear infection, diarrhoea, vomiting, or any condition that may compromise their health or the health of others.
• STA guidance requires swimmers to remain out of the pool for at least 48 hours after diarrhoea or vomiting.
• All medical conditions must be declared on your registration form.
Smoking & Vaping:
• This is a no smoking / no vaping venue, including just outside the doors. Smoking is permitted only at the far end of the block of units.

9. Behaviour Policy
• We have a zero-tolerance policy for verbal or physical aggression towards staff, swimmers, or other parents.
• Breaches will result in immediate termination of lessons without refund, and details may be shared with other swim schools.

10. Supervision & Responsibility
• Parents/guardians are responsible for their children at all times outside of the lesson.
• Children must not be left unattended before or after lessons.
• Any siblings in the venue must be supervised and follow venue rules.

11. Booking & Payment
• Lesson slots are held for 24 hours.
• Full payment and a completed registration form are required within this time or the space will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

12. Insurance & Compliance
• Bearded Swim Coach Ltd is fully insured through our STA membership.
• All lessons are taught in compliance with STA safety, safeguarding, and teaching standards.
• Copies of our insurance, safeguarding policy, and Pool Safety Operating Procedures (PSOP) are available upon request.
