Our Transition Splash classes are specially designed for 3–4 year olds who are nearly ready to take the step into independent swimming lessons. Running alongside our older beginner classes, these sessions provide the perfect bridge between parent-and-child swimming and swimming on their own.

Following the STA Learn to Swim Pathway, the classes build on earlier water experiences to prepare toddlers for independence, focusing on:
• Confidence and readiness – encouraging children to separate gradually from their parent while still feeling supported.
• Early independence – practising floating, kicking, and propulsion with reduced parent assistance to mirror independent lesson structures.
• Water safety awareness – learning safe entries, exits, and basic self-rescue principles that form the foundation of lifelong water safety.
• Skill progression – refining breath control, floating, and balance while introducing the first stages of stroke development.
• Classroom awareness – helping children adapt to a busier pool environment, learn to take turns, and follow group instructions, preparing them for independent classes.

Please note: These lessons take place during our evening sessions alongside older beginner classes. As such, the pool environment may be livelier, busier, and noisier than our daytime classes. This can be a fantastic way to gently prepare your child for the transition to independent swimming, but it may not suit every child’s learning style.
